Yep, we are there.
The baby is born, and the first panic is wind/colic and everything else that keeps a baby up all night.
Then you get to circa the 3 month mark and if you are lucky that starts to calm. (A bit. If you are lucky!)
And just when life is starting to resemble a form of sanity again, they start to chew everything in sight. Their hands, you, their siblings……drool is everywhere and their cheeks resemble Bosco.
I have to say, teething it a bitch – and after having 3 kids it doesn’t get any easier! My biggest issue is that my kids just don’t take dummies so I find it hard to calm them and a lot of the teething rings are too difficult for a 4 month old to grasp. That’s why I love the Gummee Glove!

The Gummee Glove is a life saver because it doesn’t need to be held – you simply put it on like a glove and baby can nibble and gnaw away! The teething ring is detachable for cleaning and the glove is washable too. And for those of us who like to coordinate, it comes in a range of colors π
I like to put some teething gel on whatever part of the glove Ben is putting to his mouth; my favorite gel being Teetha. Once baby gets a bit older I move to the Teetha granules.
Try to remember that baby will be a lot more clingy when cutting those first tootems so a little bit more patience is required. When all else fails, distraction is key – pop them in the buggy and go for a stroll, good for mama and for baba.
Experience has taught me that as they get a bit older, everything goes in their mouth! Once they have mastered that little grip, nothing is safe. So it’s important to have some mouth friendly items ready to go. Gummee UK also have a Link and Teeth for he older baby. Ben is using this already when we are out and about.
This will be so handy for shopping trips – instead of mouthing that yucky coin holder that dangles from the trolley, I’ll be bringing my Link and Teeth.
Gummee UK have a range of products available to purchase – the link to their Facebook Page is here.
What are your teething ‘go-to’s’?
The guys at Gummee kindly sent me these products for free so that I could put them to the test. But my review is 100% genuine – I had already purchased a Gummee Glove for Aoibhinn when she was teething and found it excellent. So naturally I was delighted to get these for Ben.
